SPARTANBURG, SC (June 18, 2014) — Compliance with The Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals will result in minor changes to Contec's current labeling and safety data sheets for all solvents, chemicals, disinfectants, solutions, and presaturated wipes. These changes will allow for an internationally standardized approach to hazard communication and classification. Adoption of the traditional Hazard Communication Standard will ensure improved information transmission, both in the US and other countries around the world, by eliminating conflicting domestic and international hazard information requirements. In an effort to increase the safe use of workplace chemicals, Contec will implement GHS procedures.
OSHA requires that compliance with all modified provisions must be completed by June 1, 2015 for manufacturers, however, customers can expect to see changes in Contec's packaging, labeling and safety data sheets beginning in July of this year.
