Following public health concerns over the growing spread of COVID-19, a growing number of conference organizers are canceling, postponing, or virtualizing their medical meetings, biotech gatherings, and scientific summits. Health Connect has made the decision to postpone their 2020 Spring Hospital Pharmacy Conference trade show to June 15-17, 2020. The city and hotel will remain the same: Hyatt Regency in New Orleans, LA. Please visit their news page for more information.
After careful consideration, Health Connect Partners has decided to move the dates for the safety and well-being of all our attendees traveling to the conference. We also appreciate the fact that healthcare Providers are needed more in their hospitals right now than at our conference.
As a health care performance improvement company, Vizient has been closely monitoring developments related to COVID-19, including engaging with numerous stakeholders, such as federal health officials and agencies, to stay on top of the latest information and guidance available.
We have also seen increased outreach from members and suppliers regarding travel cancellations due to company-imposed travel bans. So, based on this factor and the current information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO), we’ve determined the need to postpone the programming planned for Vizient’s 2020 Connections Business Summit, scheduled for March 30 – April 2 in Las Vegas. All member council and other member-related meetings planned to occur onsite during Summit are also postponed. We will be working over the next several weeks to determine the content that can be delivered via other mechanisms or moved to our Fall Summit in September.
Furthermore, The National Home Infusion Association (NHIA) has made the decision to cancel the 2020 Annual Conference at the Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center in Denver, Colorado, scheduled for April 5-9, 2020. NHIA also made the statement that they “will continue to monitor the virus and assess options for providing virtual content or holding the conference later in 2020.” Read the official press release here.
