COLUMBIA, SC (March 20, 2014) - The University of South Carolina was pleased to annouce the opening of their new pharmacy lab- The Kennedy Pharmacy Innovation Center. The center, which officially opened on March 7, is creating a new standard of pharmacy education. In an effort to increase safety within the realm of pharmaceutical studies, the students will be compounding medications in a truly sterile environment, rather than pretend sterile conditions. With an emphasis on real-life accuracy, the center strives to cultivate more effective and efficient techniques for the future of pharmacy.
In addition to the launch of their new program, Critical Point, a leading educational advocate for safety in the field of medicine, is hosting a Sterile Compounding Boot Camp course for credit at the center. The course will be held April 29- May 1, 2014 and will offer hands-on training in the areas of sterile compounding, quality management, and pharmacy practice standards in compliance with USP Chapter . The facility allows for real-life demonstrations, and enrollment in the course creates a great networking opportunity to interact with other leading industry professionals.
